Traditional or modern RPO
RPO is a buying category that can mean many different things. With one provider you hire in recruiters; with another, one team takes over the whole chain, from first glance to signed contract. Here you can see the difference, and what the large RPO providers say about it themselves.

What is the difference between traditional and modern RPO?
Traditional RPO usually comes down to extra recruitment capacity: recruiters at the client who source, work LinkedIn and job boards and run the process. Modern RPO takes responsibility for the whole chain that leads to a hire: attention, application, follow-up, assessment and hire, with advertising, content, data, sourcing and candidate handling in one team, under the employer's brand.
How modern RPO works at SocialFindExtra capacity or the whole chain
The comparisonA type, not a company: large providers also offer employer branding and technology. The difference lies in where the model starts and what it takes responsibility for.
| Traditional RPO | Modern RPO (SocialFind) | |
|---|---|---|
| Core of the model | Extra recruitment capacity | Responsibility for the chain up to the hire |
| Where it starts | The vacancy and the recruiter | The audience and the problem |
| Tools | Sourcing, LinkedIn, job boards | Advertising, content and video, funnels, sourcing, Thought Leader Recruitment |
| Passive talent | Approach whoever can be found | Create attention and movement first |
| Under whose name | Differs per provider | White-label, under your employer brand |
| Price | Usually on request | From €6,500 a month, media budget included, no placement fees |
| Built for | Often large, international employers | Organisations of around 50 to 5,000 employees with hiring pressure |
What the large RPO providers offer themselves
We name them because this is the field in which we want to be chosen: serious organisations that hand over a substantial part of their recruitment. Below is what these providers say about their offer on their own RPO page (consulted on 2 October 2026). No judgement, just the facts to put side by side.
- Randstad Enterprise, whose RPO brand is Randstad Sourceright, describes its RPO as modular and built around the client, with end-to-end RPO, project RPO, recruiter on demand and talent BPO, supported by talent intelligence, programmatic advertising, employer brand marketing and AI for sourcing, screening and scheduling. - Hays Talent Solutions works "as an extension of your team", with end-to-end RPO, project RPO and staff augmentation in which recruiters are embedded on demand, plus modules such as employee value proposition and recruitment marketing. Source: haystalentsolutions.com, RPO page.
- Cielo offers enterprise, hybrid, project, modular and high-volume RPO, with an embedded recruitment team and its own technology platform, and mentions around 2,000 recruiting experts. Source: cielotalent.com, RPO page.
- ManpowerGroup Talent Solutions aims its RPO at large-scale recruiting and workforce-intensive initiatives, with end-to-end talent acquisition, project RPO, recruiters on demand, recruitment marketing and direct sourcing. Source: mpgtalentsolutions.com, RPO page.
- Pro Contact combines job marketing, interim recruitment and employer branding in its RPO: social media campaigns and interim recruiters who screen, source and search on LinkedIn and job boards, with no placement fee. Source: pro-contact.nl, RPO page.
None of these five states a price on those pages. We do: from 6,500 euros a month, all-inclusive within the agreed scope.
When traditional RPO is the logical choice
If you are a large international employer hiring in dozens of countries, want a contingent workforce managed through an MSP, or mainly need extra recruiters in a process that is already in place, the large providers above are built for that. We will say so honestly.
When modern RPO is a better fit
When the people you are looking for are not actively looking and you first have to reach them, interest them and get them moving. When you do not want extra hands but a team that takes responsibility for the whole chain, from attention to hire, and says out loud what is holding results back. And when you want every campaign to strengthen your employer brand. How that works is on modern RPO at SocialFind and our approach.
Extra hands or a team that runs the chain
Tell us who you are looking for and where it is stalling now. We will say honestly which model fits, even if that is a traditional RPO provider.
Frequently asked questions about traditional and modern RPO
An RPO agency usually charges a fixed monthly fee, sometimes supplemented with a fee per hire. At SocialFind you pay no placement fees: the partnership starts at EUR 6,500 per month, all-inclusive within the agreed scope. What you get in return is not a standalone service but a complete recruitment engine: strategy, content, campaigns, sourcing, screening, follow-up and reporting, under your name.
No, there is no hire guarantee. Guaranteeing a placement and tying your fee to it puts you right back near the no cure no pay model we deliberately moved away from. What we do guarantee are the parts we control: execution, speed (new candidates followed up within one working day), transparency, reporting, output and getting the most out of the market. And if we do not deliver structurally, a client does not stay. Our reason to exist is delivering results.
With full RPO we take over almost the entire recruitment operation. You remain the owner of the organisation, the employment terms and the final decision on who you hire; your hiring managers conduct the in-depth interviews. How much stays with you operationally, we decide together. Want to follow up candidates yourself? Fine, then we measure whether it works. If we see something on your side costing hires, we name it. No responsibility without a mandate.
No, not even on request. No cure no pay runs against the way we recruit: a fee per placement rewards placing fast, a fixed fee rewards hiring well. What is possible is a defined project around one specific vacancy or hiring question, for instance a difficult or expensive role where the alternative agency fee would easily run into tens of thousands of euros. You buy that project as a project, not paid only upon a placement.
